Coaching for artist managers · 1:1 · 12 months
Always on.Never off.
You carry the career, the calendar and the crises. Mostly alone. This is 1:1 coaching for artist managers and music managers who want more calm and a better work-life balance, without letting go of the artists or the ambition.
01 · The problem
Artist management is a lonely job.
Who do you lean on?
Your artist has you. You have a phone that never stops. Bookings, labels, promoters, money, travel, the 2am call after a bad show. As an artist manager, it all lands on your desk.
That's why burnout in the music industry doesn't only hit artists. It hits the people behind them. Most artist managers, DJ managers and music managers I talk to say the same four things.
- 01You do it all aloneNo team, no partner, no backup. If you stop, everything stops.
- 02Work never endsWeekends are shows. Evenings are email. There is no line between the job and your life.
- 03You carry the emotionsYou are the manager, the therapist and the sounding board. And you take it home.
- 04Nobody to spar withYou give advice all day. But who checks your thinking?
It works. Until it doesn't. Nobody manages the manager.
02 · Why me
A coach who has been
on both sides.
I'm Joey Lelieveld, known as JoeySuki, founder of Artist Coaching in the Netherlands. I toured the world as a DJ. Tomorrowland, Creamfields, releases on Spinnin', Revealed and Defected. I know what it's like to be the artist your manager worries about.
I also know what it's like to burn out chasing it. I found my way from always on to a career I can actually sustain. I wrote a book about it: Happy in a Boring Life.
Today I coach DJs and producers, from first releases to DJ Mag Top 100. And I already coach managers behind some of those names. That's where manager coaching started.
Ambition is fine. Burning out for it isn't.

03 · The belief
Always on is not a work ethic.
Calm is an edge.
The music industry rewards hustle. Answer fast, say yes, never miss a thing. That works for a year or two. Then it costs you your health, your family or your love for the job.
I believe in a boring career. Clear rhythms, clear limits, the same good habits every week. Boring is what lets you stay in this for twenty years.
- 01 Switch on Fully present when it counts. For your artist, your deals, your decisions.
- 02 Switch off Actually gone when it doesn't. Without guilt, and without things falling apart.
04 · How it works
Twelve months.
One hour a month.
Manager coaching is a 12 month, one to one program for artist managers. A monthly session with me on business and personal topics. Because for a manager those were never separate.
- 01Your workloadWhat only you can do, what someone else can do, and what can go.
- 02Your boundariesWhen you're on, when you're off, and how you say it so your artist actually gets it.
- 03The emotional loadSupporting your artist without carrying all of it home with you.
- 04Your own directionNot just where your artist is going. Where you are going.

Questions about
manager coaching.
What is coaching for artist managers?
Coaching for artist managers is one to one support for the person behind the artist. At Artist Coaching I help artist managers, music managers and DJ managers handle the workload, set boundaries and find a better work-life balance, without losing their ambition or their artists.
Who is manager coaching for?
Artist managers, music managers and DJ managers who run most of the work on their own. Most of them work in electronic music. If you manage in another genre and this page sounds like your week, get in touch anyway.
How do artist managers avoid burnout?
By building rhythm and limits before something breaks. Know when you're on and when you're off. Split what only you can do from what someone else can do. And have a sparring partner of your own. That's exactly what we work on, month by month.
Is this business coaching or personal coaching?
Both. Some sessions are about a deal, a team or a difficult artist. Others are about sleep, your family or why you can't stop checking email. For a manager, those are the same problem.
How does manager coaching work?
It's a 12 month program with one session a month, one to one with me. Between sessions you work on what we agreed. Monthly is enough to keep moving, and it still leaves you time to actually do the work.
What does manager coaching cost?
There are two packages, both a 12 month commitment. Monthly costs €375 per month, or €4,200 per year paid upfront, and includes one session with me every month. Monthly + Sparring costs €650 per month, or €7,200 per year paid upfront, and adds a sparring partner between sessions with an answer within one working day. Prices are excl. VAT. Not sure which fits? We figure that out in a free intro call.
Does my artist need to be a client too?
No. This is your trajectory, not theirs. If your artist already works with me, we keep the two strictly apart.
Will my artist know what we talk about?
No. What you share stays between us. You decide what, if anything, you tell your artist.
Is this therapy?
No. I'm a coach, not a therapist. We work on how you work and live, and on what you want to change. If something needs a professional, I'll tell you straight.
Who is the coach behind manager coaching?
I'm Joey Lelieveld, also known as JoeySuki. I'm a former international touring DJ and the founder of Artist Coaching in the Netherlands. I've coached more than 200 DJs and producers and wrote two books on building a career that lasts: Happy in a Boring Life and Unhappy With a Dream Life.
